WEDDING / PLANNING, CONTRACT, DEPOSIT

  • How do I reserve the date? I will mail, email or give to you at a meeting a Photography contract. Fill out and submit/mail.  A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve the date. Balance due 15 days before the event date. I accept personal checks, cash or credit card.

  • Can you tell me what is in the Contract? Pricing, items, and services included, and model release

  • Payment Methods: Personal Check, Cash, and Credit Card

  • Will you be willing to do a site visit? It's optional if you’d like to add this feature to your wedding package, please make a request & we will make this happen, travel fees might apply.

  • Can I see a full event from start to finish? Yes. We understand all photographers put up their best shots from each wedding on their websites so it’s hard to determine how well someone will perform on the Wedding day. However, that’s why we decided to have full galleries of each wedding featured in a storytelling format.

  • How many hours do you suggest we set aside for Family traditional portraits and Newly wedded artistic photos? Bride and groom only: 60-90 minutes. And even when saving the “first look” for the ceremony is very special, we suggest doing this before the ceremony, That way you can enjoy the rest of your day with your family and friends without having to worry about taking too much time out for photos. Together with your Wedding Planner or DOC, we’ll help you set up a first look moment. It’ll still be special when you see each other. Be sure to give us at least a full hour, enough time to walk around your venue and capture a combination of candid moments. Bridal party: 30 to 60 minutes. Family traditional portraits: Please contact me for more info.

WEDDING / DAY OF

  • Will you pay for your parking? Travel fees include parking expenses.

  • What will your photographers wear? Our dress code is conservative, business casual in dark colors, mostly black.

  • Do you arrive at the exact time that the contract states? We arrive at least 30 minutes earlier; we scout the area, learn the natural light sources, indoor lighting, building features, locations and we also try to meet or be able to recognize the Bride’s & Groom’s immediate family members.

  • Do you bring your lighting equipment? Yes, you don’t need to worry about lighting at your venue. We have all the technical equipment required for indoor & outdoor photography.

  • Will you shoot outside if it rains? We are willing to do some styled-shots under the rain, but we won’t do photojournalist style photography if our equipment is at risk of getting wet/damaged.

  • Do you provide with Videography services? No.

  • Do you bring a second shooter? Yes, if the package you chose includes a second photographer. Our Basic packages include lead Photographer Jane Speleers and Lighting assistant.

  • It’s dark in our Venue. How do you handle these situations?” Some chapels do not allow for flash photography and for that reason, we may shoot with camera’s designed for low-light performance as well as low aperture lens. We will use our lighting equipment to capture Family portraits, First dance, and Celebration.

  • Do you work from a shot list? We have a standard shot list for the must-haves & family portraits which are really about 20% of all the images we shoot, but while we will try our hardest to capture all the most important moments of your wedding day, no images are guaranteed. Other than that, the images will vary depending on the event. We will ask you to write a shooting list of your TRADITIONAL FAMILY PORTRAITS. We call TFP the Photos we will take of B&G with Parents, siblings, grandparents, and other family members. We like to plan ahead of time, so we know how much time these will take. Also, you will need to delegate a FAMILY PHOTO COORDINATOR, which should be someone who knows both families and who will help us find and call people that are not at the portrait location on time (preferable someone loud, and responsible). You can also delegate one family photo coordinator per side, *I also recommend e-mailing your family members with a Wedding Photo plan, inviting them to be part of this photo-shoot, so they get there on time if you are doing this before the ceremony, or know where to go after the ceremony is over and make it a priority.

  • How many weddings do you shoot on one day?  We reserve a full weekend for one wedding only

  • I have a lot of downtime in between events on my wedding day. Will I be charged for that downtime? Yes, however, we don’t stop working, we photograph details, guests & family during this downtime.

WEDDING / AFTER: PROCESSING TIME, PACKAGE AND PRINTING RELEASE

  • Do you shoot in JPEG or Raw?  We shoot all out images in Raw. And deliver our images in JPEG only.

  •  No. There is a flat fee for additional hours. If you don’t request any additional photography hours,  your balance will be of $0.00

  • Is an album included? The Basic packages do not include Albums. If you love professionally designed unique photo books, we have some pretty amazing options. Jane works on every album to convert it into a piece of art.

  • Do you shoot Quinceaneras, Birthday parties or Corporate Events?” Yes and we would love to photograph your celebration.

  • Does your studio do headshots, individual portraits, family portraits, commercial photography, or other types of photography? Yes, we provide with family, newborn, maternity and head-shots on weekdays and weekends all year long. By appointment only.

  • How many photo shoots have you done? We are a young, energetic & creative company, inititally established in 2011 as “The Royal Squirrel photography” and expanded in 2013, introducing our wedding photography site “Jane Speleers Photography.”  So far we have performed over 350 photo shoots, these include: Proposals, Engagement & Weddings, Maternity, Newborn, Family, Extended Family, Senior, Studio fine art, Retail and Business Portraits.

  • What equipment do you use? We work with Nikon photography equipment, a large variety of lighting equipment and accessories. We are prepared for outdoor and indoor photography no matter the time of the day or lighting conditions.

  • What’s the most difficult situation you’ve been at a wedding? We photographed two events that gave us good lessons. At one of them the ceremony was hosted at a small outdoor tent beautifully decorated but completely full of chairs. The aisle was narrow as well as the space between the chairs and the walls of the tent.  Jane’s plan was to start shooting on the front and make her way back  through the area between chairs and walls, so she could shoot a wide angle of the ceremony and the kiss. However, when the father of the bride handed his daughter to Groom, Jane, who was hiding behind one of the groomsman, found out that the canopy wasn’t just full of people in the back up and all the way to the middle of the tent, with some standing on the isle,  but some of the guests decided to place chairs in the narrow halls and both sides were completely blocked. Jane was stuck in the front, between a groomsman and the wall! Thank goodness, the couple had a religious ceremony and when the minister asked everyone to close their eyes and pray, Jane run to the back through the middle of the isle. They got shots of loving tears, laughs and the first kiss of the newlyweds. Lesson learned, We now make sure that the wedding day coordinator helps us keep clear our escape routes.

The other ceremony where we had difficulties was in Snohomish, where the bride and groom assumed that because their families were good friends with the priest, he was going to be okay with having a photographer in the church, where photography is not allowed. Unfortunately, they were wrong. Make sure that you get photography permits and approval from venue owners. It’s the Client’s responsibility to get these before the Wedding day.
